macOS release
Anarlog 1.4.0 is available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Linux and Windows are coming soon while platform release validation continues.
Desktop downloads
- Download notarized macOS builds for Apple Silicon and Intel
- Receive matching
1.4.0application and updater versions on macOS
Notes and editor
- Type more smoothly in long notes while Anarlog keeps continuous edits safely persisted
- Use refreshed typography, task checkboxes, mention and hashtag styles, and more compact formatting and slash-command menus
- Add underline formatting and type common arrows, fractions, smart quotes, ellipses, and highlighted text with familiar shortcuts
- Recall recently sent chat prompts with the Up and Down arrow keys while preserving the draft you were writing
- Wait for batch transcription to finish before chat answers from a recording, with guidance to use a Pro model for live transcript-aware chat
- Scroll notes only vertically; an enforced title no longer leaves a permanent horizontal scrollbar across the note
Updates and settings
- Let Anarlog download updates in the background and install them the next time the app opens, with a new setting to turn automatic updates off
- See upcoming meeting countdowns in a compact badge, and see Saved locally while Cloud Sync waits for an active recording or chat to finish
- Get a warning before combining Cloud Sync with an Anarlog storage folder managed by iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or another file syncing service
- Make a newly configured transcription or language-model provider current directly from the confirmation after saving its first API key
- Connect directly to Cohere, Groq, xAI, Together AI, Fireworks AI, Cerebras, Amazon Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI for summaries and chat
- Choose newer hosted AI models, including Claude Opus 5, Gemini 3.6 Flash, Kimi K2.7 Code, and GLM 5.2
- Restore excluded meeting apps reliably after startup and present cleaner, platform-aware settings and window controls
- See a refreshed, more consistent icon set throughout the app
Reliability and privacy
- Reopen Anarlog while it is already running without triggering startup-service errors
- Stop permanent AI generation and transcription failures from retrying indefinitely while preserving recovery for temporary failures
- Keep recording playback state and duration accurate when retained audio is removed or a deletion cannot complete
- Avoid macOS system-audio capture crashes during transient Core Audio setup and format changes
- Prevent on-device Parakeet live transcription from unexpectedly quitting Anarlog on macOS
- Keep live speaker labels within the actual remote-participant count for each audio channel
- Use compatible GPT-5.6 Terra settings and the corrected Parakeet CoreML batch model on affected M5 Macs
- Remove free-form note, transcript, request, breadcrumb, and device context from Sentry crash reports before they leave the app
Local AI on macOS
- Try Apple Intelligence as an experimental on-device text generation provider on supported macOS 26 devices
- Keep Apple Intelligence summaries readable by ending generated content at a complete sentence instead of cutting it off mid-thought
Developer tools
- Enable a device-local REST API from Settings → Developers to read meetings, notes, summaries, transcripts, history, and exports on every plan
- Create local API keys and signed webhooks for completed meetings and generated summaries while keeping the underlying data on your device
- Opt in to Cloud API & Connectors with Anarlog Pro for hosted REST and remote MCP access while the desktop app is closed; turning it off deletes the separate server-readable copies
Linux readiness
These changes are being prepared for the upcoming Linux release and are not included in the macOS-only 1.4.0 release:
- Detect active microphone streams more reliably and stop the detector cleanly when it is no longer needed
- Make notification body, button, option, footer, dismiss, and timeout actions work as expected
Transcription
- Hear microphone and system audio centered during recording playback while Anarlog preserves the original recording channels
- Use OpenAI's latest GPT Transcribe models for live and batch transcription, including language and keyword hints
- Choose Deepgram Flux for live transcription or Gladia Solaria 3 for batch transcription
- Connect directly to Cohere, Groq, xAI, Together AI, Speechmatics, Azure AI Speech, Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Amazon Transcribe, Rev AI, or Fireworks AI for transcription
- Use Apple Speech for private, on-device live and batch transcription on supported Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26
- Tell on-device transcription models apart in the picker, which now shows each one by name, such as Soniqo Parakeet Streaming and Apple Speech, instead of a single On device label, and gives Apple Speech its own mark
- Avoid duplicate Apple Speech phrases when live hypotheses are revised
- Detect the meeting language from your configured language choices instead of forcing multilingual recordings into code-switching mode
- Separate remote speakers during on-device Parakeet batch transcription, then label diarized speakers with known participant names when the transcript provides a high-confidence identity match
- Keep automatic speaker labels working when a summary mentions multiple participants in the same sentence
- Dismiss completed batch transcription notifications automatically after a short delay
- Re-transcribe large legacy WAV recordings through Anarlog Pro without hitting the cloud upload limit
On-device transcription remains available on supported Apple Silicon Macs. The upcoming Windows and Linux releases will initially use cloud transcription or your own provider key.
